customer and client

Both can get goods or services, but —

One is a “customer” at grocery stores / shops, at malls / shopping centres, at restaurants… and when skilled tradespeople give you a service, like carpenters, plumbers, electricians…

Now, if you are in a restaurant, you are a customer, but if you go to that restaurant on a regular basis, you are a client, too!

One is a “client” when seeking the services of lawyers, financial advisers, real estate agents, stock brokers…
